After attending the 2009 Southeastern Theatre Conference, I got a few offers from companies. I had worked my tail off all weekend just hoping I could get work for a little time and keeping all of my options open. Obviously, though, I was anxious to have as much consistent work as I could since I would be graduating in May. One of the companies that called me back at SETC in Birmingham was PGT Entertainment. I had become more familiar with this company recently since my best friend, Mark Scherer had been hired by them for a cruise, but that was all I knew about them. After a callback where I was asked to sing everything from musical theatre leading man to Billy Joel to Michael Buble, I was finished and moved on to the next call. Little did I know what lay in store.
In the past few weeks I have nailed down a contract with PGT Entertainment to be a singer on one of their ships. They cast me on the Regent Seven Seas Voyager, an ultra-luxury ship. I will be doing four review shows and "Romance, Romance," which ran on Broadway in 1988. Sure it's going to be fun and it's a great deal, but the best part is the itinerary. I will rehearse in Orlando for a month starting May 9 (my graduation date) and then fly out to the ship in Norway. From there my contract will take me to 40 countries on 5 continents in 6 months, returning to the states December 28, 2009! For a lover of travel and adventure... the contract couldn't be any better! I am so excited and ready to see what crazy people I will meet, the places I will play, the food I will eat, and the sights I will see. God has blessed me in a huge way! Below is a link to the AMAZING itinerary for the Regent Seven Seas Voyager.
